Friday. Acton Bridge to Clitheroe

Distance: 68 miles
Average speed: 12.84mph
Max. Speed: 36.07mph
Time in saddle: 5hr 19min
Total distance: 492 miles
Soreness rating of nether region: 2 out of 10 ( Feeling good - never skimp when buying cycling shorts. Buy the best you can afford!)

Ok. No more tractor pictures i here the cry from everyone, well unless i get a request, then there are a few more available which i have taken on route.
If anyone wonders why my spelling is so poor, it's due to the fact i'm posting this from my phone, which has a fairly small keyboard and i have fat fingers!
Today, no sign of rain, cracked open the suntan lotion for the first time and we are only 10 miles from Manchester. Something strange is going on. It seems to be fetting warmer as we head north.
I've been trying to take pictures of dufferent animals on route, but today, through the urban sprawl of the north west, it was not looking good. Dead animals do not count.
But, hey, luck comes to those who wait. But i didn't expect to see Emu's and Alpaca's in the same field! Definite picture opportunity.
Passing thriugh near Wigan, we decided not to stop. Been to Wigan once before and know the best bit about it is the road out! Sorry for all you Wigan fans, but it is a bit of a dump and your pier doesn't even gi near the sea!
Over the Manchester ship canal, looking pretty good actually, or was that because i was in the photo?
Out of the sprawl and onto the West Penine Moors. Stopped at a coverted church which is now a tea room. Very quaint. Pictures of the reseviour shown above.
The roads across the moors were just great, rolling hills and plenty of speed.
A fellow cyclist suddenly without warning asked me if i'd like to have a go on his bike, a true out and out racer, not something i had ever ridden. The problem i had was that i clipped my feet into the pedals and then found the seat was too high. Felt like a 12 year old on an adults bike. Still blame my mum for my short legs!
Got into Clitheroe early, shortest day of them all so far and feeling still quite good. Legs a bit achy as if i've cycled near 500 miles.
What animals will i spot tmorrow?
